About Marita
Born in 1989, at the peak of the hard rock era, she was destined to dedicated her life to this genre.

She's been dancing, entertaining and writing songs since a very young age, but the most defining moment happened at the age of 12. Sitting in the backseat of her father's car, letting the intro of Dio's song, "Holy Diver" enter her heart and soul, consuming her mind with it's heavy riff and captivating rhythm. So it began. Her rock 'n' roll journey. And she never looked back.

Spending her teenage years listining to Dio, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Guns N' Roses, Mötley Crüe, Skid Row, Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden and Megadeth, her everyday was pretty much all about rock music. Listening to the tunes, learning the lyrics, studying their moves and style - her mind was made up; She wanted to become a musician. Writing songs and singing in her room became a secret hobby, writing about her everyday life, teenage problems and her hopes and dreams.

In 2005 she met the love of her life, who's been encouraging her to persuade her musical dreams. She helped writing lyrics for his bands, till she finally decided to take her own songs into studio for her first solo project called "Marita - Wild Cat". The project resulted in six demo songs. "Independent Lady" was played on the radio, and another song was re-written and used on Grimskull's album, "Monster Master".

Marita put her solo career on hold when she decided to form the heavy metal band Grimskull in 2009, and become the band's bass player. Grimskull has released one record called "Monster Master" (2012), where Marita also was a great part of the songwriting process. Grimskull's raw and gritty NWOBHM inspired sound has gotten many fans around the world, and in 2013 they recorded a single with Blaze Bayley (ex-Iron Maiden, Wolfsbane) called "Iron Eyes".

Grimskull's motto has always been "We don't change for anybody" - always striving to stay true to their musical vision and style. And that's the attitude Marita brought with her when returning to the studio to continue her solo project in 2015. She's not aiming to please listeners of the new millennium, she's aiming to please people who appreciate 80s sounding rock and metal. Inspired by Joan Jett, Lee Aaron, Debbie Harry, and her teenage idols, she took the mic with a renewed urge to create a pop/rock/metal album to fulfill her vision.

The album "Bloodlust" is a continued tribute to the big hair, spandex leggings and feelgood era of the 80s, inspired by classic horror and thriller movies, vampires and all things creepy cool.

Trygve Johan Solheim aka. TJ is the band's guitarist, also playing all additional instruments. Marita occasionaly plays bass on her music, but most of the time Geir Arne Solheim is the band's bass player, adding a mean and groovy rhythm to the sound.
